Joseph Nyaumba Weya is an experienced board leader and development professional with over a decade of service at board and executive levels in public sector institutions, donor-funded programs, and private enterprises. He has extensive expertise in corporate governance, strategic oversight, risk management, and institutional performance improvement, particularly within the water, sanitation, and infrastructure sectors.
He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Lake Victoria South Water Services Board, where he led governance reforms, strategic planning, and resource mobilization initiatives that resulted in ISO 9001 certification, expanded donor partnerships, and successful delivery of large-scale water and sanitation projects aligned with Kenya Vision 2030. His leadership supported improved service delivery, regulatory compliance, and a smooth transition of functions to county governments under the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
Joseph has also served as a Director at the National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation, where he contributed to organizational turnaround through strengthened board oversight, performance contracting improvements, workforce restructuring, and enhanced audit and risk controls.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Geography from the University of Nairobi and has completed advanced training in corporate governance, strategic leadership, ethics, and financial management. He is recognized for his integrity, independent judgment, and ability to provide effective board stewardship in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
